Polycythemia Vera Disease Mouse Models
Polycythemia vera (PV) is a chronic myeloproliferative disorder, a type of blood cancer characterized by the overproduction of red blood cells (erythrocytosis) which can lead to thicker blood and an increased risk of blood clot. Most cases of PV are caused by a point mutation in the JAK2 gene (JAK2-V617F).
To support drug discovery teams focused on PV research, WuXi AppTec offers validated PV mouse models and related services. In addition to primary PV models, our platform offers secondary polycythemia (also known as reactive, secondary erythrocytosis) models generated by exogenous administration of EPO or DPO.
