Digestive System
IBS/IBD animal models
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an autoimmune disease caused by a dysregulated immune response to host intestinal microbiota. There are two major types of IBD: ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD).
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a condition that produces similar symptoms to those of IBD but without GI tract inflammation. More than 5 million people live with a form of IBD and 0.7 billion people suffer with IBS.
Currently there is no well-developed cure for IBD or IBS. WuXi Biology has fully developed animal models for new compound development for both IBD and IBS.
IBD/IBS Models:
- DSS-Induced IBD: Acute
- DSS-Induced IBD: Chronic
- TNBS-Induced IBD
- T Cell Transfer Model of Colitis
- Telemetry Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) model
Deliverables:
- Time course of body weight change
- Disease scores, organ length and weight
- Blood biochemical analysis, including white cells and interleukins
- Histopathology scoring of collected tissue
- Telemetry EMG signaling and analysis for IBS
